These are miniature dioramas portraying unlikely scenes in nature. Each diorama has a description presented on a plaque (the plaque itself is not shown here). These are meant to be a study of our relationship with nature and on “authoritative materials,” such as informational design found at natural history museums. The descriptions are a mix of fact and fiction, and the intent is that it's difficult to tell which is which. Or if it makes you laugh, that's good too.
